We thank all the sponsors, golfers and friends who came out to the Matt Musil All-Star Golf Classic on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014. What a success!
In particular, we want to thank Annie and Matt Musil for the contining support of the work of Career and Recovery Resources.
Their foundation’s financial assistance and the golfer’s sponsorships provide our agency with general operating dollars that are so important to every United Way agency.
News at Career and Recovery!
We salute our two Volunteers of the Year, Courtney Blackburn and Kaye Horn.
Their recognition highlights the positive impact corporate and volunteer organization involvement can make on non-profits and our community. Mrs. Horn, pictured with Dr. Vernus C. Swisher, COO, is a member of CRR’s Advisory Board and also a member of the Junior League of Houston and the Houston Petroleum Auxiliary. She works tirelessly to help empower people to use their gifts and talents, particularly formerly incarcerated women. For CRR, Mrs. Horn has been an active member of the Capital Campaign and supporter of the planned-facility with high hopes of breaking ground on 5-15-15.
Mr. Blackburn is a Senior Manager at EEPB, PC and a member of the American Institute of CPAs. He is a board member of CRR and was co-chair of the Matt Musil All-Star Golf Classic for two years, as well as providing financial guidance to the CEO and board.
Our volunteer, Mr. Bill Hogan, who as a SER trainee, has gifted the agency by teaching Employment Services’ job readiness classes. Mr. Hogan for many years worked at Social Service agencies in Houston. He received a certificate of appreciation from CRR at the December executive/finance meeting.
